carb-engine
hey Guys I finally got my 72 sled to produce good spark after hours, weeks, and months of work. But, now I seem to not to get the carb pump to work. I was checking the line from the carb to the engine, but I dont seem to be getting blow by or suction from the tube. I blew thru the tube and its clear. Any ideal what it might be that is causing the problem? The engine has great compression. Putting a wad of paper in the tube, it wouldn't blow it out, nor suck it in.

Re: carb-engine
Could be a bad crank seal. Here is an article about the fuel pump in relation to the crankcase:

Re: carb-engine
hey Matt thanks a bunch! I guess, I need to break the crankcase apart and get the seals replaced. What a job thats going to be. Plus I'm going to convert to a Mukuni while I'm at it. May the force be with me young skywalker! lol Thanks

For the KIORITZ motor, from my understanding, you shouldn't have to split the crank case to replace the seals.

Re: carb-engine
Al is right, you can replace the outer seals on a CCW/Kiortz motor without splitting the cases. But if you want to replace the inner seals, you need to pull the crank.
I hope this helps,
