**SOLD** 2 JDX 8's and 1 JD 600 - Picture Heavy

Post by BorderBum »

I am putting up for sale the three snowmobiles we had when I was a kid back in the 1970’s. There are two 1974 JDX 8’s and one 1974 JD 600. The 600 was bought from my uncle and the two JDX 8’s were bought from a neighbor, so we are the second owner of these sleds. All were purchased by my dad when they were a few years old. They are in pretty good shape, and all turn over and seem to have good compression, but they haven’t been run for 15+ years, so will need gas tanks cleaned, fuel lines replaced and carbs cleaned. The tracks all seem good and I know the two on the JDX’s have been replaced at one time. The JDX’s have slide rails and the 600 has bogies. The better of the two JDX 8’s and the 600 have always been kept inside. The other JDX 8 did sit out for about 5 years when my brother had it and didn’t have anywhere to keep it. This one needs both the throttle cable and brake cable replaced, and it does have a new brake cable with it. The bracket that holds either the brake lever or the throttle lever (I don’t remember which one) onto the handlebars is broken, so that will also have to be replaced. There is a crack in corner of the headlight frame, not all the way through. The seat cover is also shot on this one and the windshield is cracked. The crack doesn’t go all the way out to the edge of the windshield but it is there. The 600 has electric start. It does have a crack in the hood when another sleds throttle stuck and ran into it back in the 70’s. My dad fixed it with a piece of tin on the inside of the hood, and rivets. I don’t think it would take much to get these running as the last time we had them running after they had sat for many years, we just cleaned the tanks, replaced fuel lines and cleaned the carbs and they fired up. I wouldn‘t mind keeping them, but there are no vintage clubs around here and I have too many other projects going on. I just can’t get excited about snowmobiling anymore. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and let me know if you want specific pictures of anything. Please look at the pictures closely. I am not intentionally misrepresenting anything, but I am not into vintage sleds so I’m not sure what you guys look for or need to see. I am located in North Central North Dakota, about 65 miles Northwest of Devils Lake, or 40 miles Northeast of Rugby. You will have to come and pick these sleds up, as I will not deliver. I am asking $350 for the best JDX 8, $200 for the other one, and $250 for the 600. If you want all three, they can be yours for $600. You can e-mail me at 4schells@gmail.com Info on each sled is found above the group of pics for that sled. Thanks. Randy

One other thing. I do work a lot of 13 hour shifts, sometimes for 3 or 4 days and I don't have access to my e-mail, but I will respond to questions ASAP, either by e-mail or Private Message.

Thanks.
