If you have one with a frozen shaft...
Heat it up red hot.... then quench it. Thread a socket screw (allen drive) into the shaft and use an air hammer to pound out the shaft.
Heat and quench a few times as needed. I just started using this method and have good luck!
(You can thank Kenny if it works for you too)

Dustin,
To follow up, I did have one that was seized too. So, we're in the same boat. But I'll try this method now too.

Seems like the liquifires are always froze up, and the trailfires and sportfires are loose.
Maybe it's just me..

rust electrolysis. All you need is Water, Arm & hammer laundry detergent(non-scented powder type). a big plastic tub, mechanics wire or metal coat hanger for hanging part. and a battery charger, scrap peice of steel tubing or rod. dip you arms in this process and the shaft will just about fall out. may take 12-48 hours depending on the rust. I do this all the time with all rusty parts. works great.

Chris' response sounds like a whole lot more fun. Anytime you can mix water and electricity, THAT'S A FUN PROJECT!

Have you tried the muriatic acid method? It dissolves the aluminum shafts.

Use it in a plastic bin. Handle with care outdoors and away from walls. When you put the shaft in the acid it will sizzle and smoke for a few hours before it looses it's potency. Then you check and see how much shaft it burned out. The first couple gallons I got were a "green" version, and didn't each much of the shaft. Then I tried a different brand and it did the job much faster. So if strictly using the good stuff I would guess it would only take a treatment or two. Note that it will eat the paint off the arm too and you should primer it quickly after you wash off the acid. This is the stuff that worked:

Straight acid or did you mix with water?

Re: Liquifire arm needed
I have used the acid method and it works great. DO NOT BREATHE FUMES IN .... make sure bin is vented. It will eat all aluminum away plus any rust on the steel. Makes a rear swing arm look new. Also make sure you prime or paint it within an hr or 2 of it coming out of the acid.
