Hello all
I have a friend that has a 295s that has been sitting around for 10 plus years but is in very very good condition. We are hoping to get it cleaned up and running this year. So with that being said I have not spent much time with the sled yet but know that it has less than 1000 original miles on it and turns over freely. It has weak spark on one cylinder. Thinking that if we can find parts we will at least put new seals and gaskets in it along with a set of rings. Does anyone know where I can find any of this? I have searched around on sites like mfgsupply and newbreedparts and the only thing I have found is a crank seal (OS1302R) on new breed parts. Are Rings and a gasket set available anywhere? Thanks for your help. Will keep you all posted on progress

Re: 295s
Parts for this engine are pretty much made of unobtainium.
However, if it only has a 1000 mi on it, it "might" not need too much. The crank seals are the same as used on production engines, so that should be no problem. Base gaskets should be the same as was used on a 340/5 production engine, I know the 340/S base gasket was the same.
You can probably get by re-using your head gaskets if you can't find any. You just spray them with aluminum ( silver ) paint, and assemble before they dry.
Pistons are non existent, you'll have to try on the classifieds for rings, I just don't know.
Pull the heads off and take a look. You can see the piston skirts through the exhaust ports, or pull the jugs off.
The intake and exhaust manifold gaskets you can make.
If there is nothing simple wrong with he ignition, like a bad plug, plug wire, or a coil, then you are probably looking at a Prestolite stator or CDI box issue.
