440 kioritz performance
440 kioritz performance
hey guys im in the process of re-doing a 77' liquifire and gonna do some grass racing with it. Any tips or tricks to get alittle more power out of the engine? I will be running the stock pipe.

Leave the engine stock but freshen it up, and jet it for the weather conditions that you will be running in. . Install a later style Liquifire chain-case with the external chain adjuster and change the gears to a lower ratio. Follow the chart listed below for suggestions. Adjust the front adjusters of the rear suspension to try and get ski lift to help eliminate ski drag. Rebuild the clutches and change primary weights and spring to increase the engagement but stay within designed max engine rpm.
Don't concern yourself with max mph, you need to get out of the hole as quick as you can without bogging down.
Just my thoughts,

Thanks for the insight and gearing chart harleysportster! I know clutching is key to performance and also gearing.I need a new clutch for it it has some pretty bad cracks in it. can a hydraulic brake caliper be retrofitted to the later liquifire case? thanks

I'm not sure of all of the particulars, but I believe there are Polaris calipers that bolt up, and also the brand new Wahl unit.

Re: 440 kioritz performance
alright guys, don't shoot me on this question. since I need a new drive clutch and I have a few very nicecat drive clutches and a ton of tuning parts This clutch should interchange correct? both are 30mm taper I just have to set the cat clutch for proper belt width correct?

Re: 440 kioritz performance
The 30mm taper may be the same but the offset could be different, which means the belt alignment could be off.

Some of the guys here are running Arctic clutches, and some Polaris, on their competition sleds.
