Fuel in my pulse line? Help!

Post by Newdeereguy85 »

Hello

I have completely rebuilt an engine out of a 1974 JDX8. I bought a new VM 34 Mikuni carb, a new fuel pump, I replace parts in the carburetor so they are the same as the 1976 cyclone 440.

The problem I am having is getting fuel into the pulse line. It looks like it's coming from the crankcase and running down toward the fuel pump. I have pulled the carb, check the needle seat, put the carb back on and have the same problem. With everything being new I am frustrated I'm having this problem, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you pull the plugs and pull it over fast, is there a lot of fuel coming out of both bores, just the one with the pulse line, or neither? If it is only one, or neither, I'm guessing you have a perforated diaphragm. If it is both, you have a carburetion issue.
