What is the best option for getting a pair of pistons for the 440/22 engine? I'm using the sled as a vintage rider, with the hope to do a few longer rides, such as RWTC. I'd like to get good pistons that would be durable, and perform well at top end (once in a while). Wiseco is top end, and good for performance, but you pay for it. What about other brands: SPI, Parts Unlimited, other brands? I don't want junk ones either. Thanks in advance.
(I'm not quite sure that I need this just yet, but I want to prepare in case I do need new pistons. Still in the inspection process to see if I have damage).

Re: CCW KEC 440/22 pistons
A very similar question has been asked recently.... Not sure if it was here or on FB. But several folks swear by wiseco and would never ever use SPI. Then others (and myself) have used SPI regularly with no issues at all. I have even used SPI on my 2002 RMK and it has ran great. Some say pretty much all others pistons (SPI and such) come from the same vat in Taiwan. I could be wrong on the lasts statememt so please others chime in. As you just experienced, piston quality probably wasn't why the piston failed. Wiseco's burn up too, I seem to have luck like you so I tend to use cheaper pistons as I find myself doing the same job more often than most.

Check with Dennis Kirk, their pistons could be nos JD/kioritz until the stock is gone. I have bought a few sets of them. There is nothing wrong with SPI pistons.
