boggy Sprintfire

Post by ljm »

I recently got a 83 Sprintfire.

Nice sled but man it is boggy in the bottom end. soft snow it won't even move its self.
It is rich because it stalls when I flip the choke on.
I checked the needle today and it was already had the clip in the top hole.

Any suggestions?

Lloyd, the best you can do to solve to bottom end bog is to install a NOS M68715 belt. It has worked like a charm for all my Sprintfires. The 1078 or 1107 belts just don't fit right and are not the right length.

You could also try the optional drivers if you don't already have them. You would be giving up some top end speed though. I have some nos ones that I would sell.

Spitfire/Snowfire drivers are 7 tooth and the Sprintfires are 8 tooth. Which ones are the optional that you have Tasky?

I have both 8 tooth and 7 tooth. I believe that for the Sprintfire the smaller 7 tooth drivers were optional for the high altitude kit? I was thinking if he is running 8's he could gear down to 7's

Both my 84s act the same but haul the direct drive mail once they get going.
