Hi:
I have just finished my 1976 JD 300 Snowmobile, and it came out really good,I want to thank everyone from this site for their help.I could not say enough how helpful this website has been to me.My problem now,I have been riding the Snowmobile around my yard for a week now,and everything worked excellent,I went to try it today and I have no lights at all, headlight, brake light, tail light, none at all.I changed the Light switch, ignition switch, and I think it was a light solenoid, not sure it was mounted on the clutch guard, still nothing, could this be a bad lighting coil?and this is mounted in where the points are I believe. Please help!!

Thank-you

Just a a thought, I had the same problem it turned out to be the voltage regular mounted on the bar that the dash attachs to. One wire hook up and the part costs under $10. I may be a easy fix.

Check to see if you have power at the plugs for the lights. If the voltage reg went bad[which is quite common] it will burn the bulbs out almost instantly. The volt reg is a little black box held on with 2 small bolts and has 1 wire.
