Kohler K295-2AX Mikuni 34mm slide swap
Good evening, Im new to the world of JD sleds, Im a Ski Doo guy by trade and a JD Farm equipment guy. I have been looking for a vintage sled, and I found a 1973 JDX4 complete and straight, with factory JD parts and service manual. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the machine, and feel a little guilty about making fun of them when I was a kid. I am going to restore it except for a few little details. Im going to get rid of the Walbro and bullet proof the fuel system. My plan is to put a 34 Mikuni slide with a primer set up instead of choke. My question is where to start with jetting. My plan is to start with 180 main, 40 pilot, 159 P-0 needle jet, 6DH2-3 needle and 2.5 slide cut. It will be run between 2500 and 3500 ft above sea level. What do you think? I would also like to upgrade to a plastic tank, does anyone have a good source of a repro/nos or used one. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
