Hey, I have a 1979 trailfire. Just rebuilt the engine last year, carb was rebuilt two years ago.... It runs great at mid to full throttle but in the low rpm areas one cylender wants to flood out... I played around with plugs but to no prevail.... When I was handling the spark plug boots I realized that the boot on the problem cylender has a chip out of the plastic part.( Underneath the rubber part, that's why I didn't see it) I ordered new boots, and a new coil while I'm at it hoping that at low rpm this chip was causing stray spark....Sound like a possible reason for my problem? Any other suggestions??

You may be on to it with the spark issue.
But Is your flooded cylinder the same side as the impulse line on the fuel pump?
If so it could be a leaky diaphragm in the pump causing extra fuel in the flooding side.
Keep us posted as to your spark idea.
