New old member with 73 JDX8 questions

Well I joined the board about 9 years ago IIRC... had a 75 JDX8 that I'd found abandoned. Got it running and cleaned up then promptly sold it as I was a broke kid that needed the cash way worse than a vintage sled. Now 9 years later I wish I still had it so I set out to find one. Came across a fairly complete 1973 and picked it up this weekend. Has electric start that works but I need to fix the battery box as the solenoid is in the path of the steering linkage with the weight of the battery in the box. It has what I believe is a Walbro WF carburetor... had a bad hesitation between idle and WOT but opening the low side screw seems to have eliminated that. Screw is about 2 1/8 turns out which seems excessive but it seems to run decently. Lots of other little things that it needs, many of which I'm sure I havent even noticed yet but it will be a fun project to get it all in running order again and may even turn into a full resto down the road. Look forward to being a part of this community, there is a wealth of knowledge here!
