Last year I went ahead and bought a hewtech cdi and a nos stator from dk trader . Everything was installed last spring and the sled ran great . Last weekend I fired up the sled and she ran great for about 15 minutes , but then sputtered and died . After a little trouble shooting I found that the stator is now reading 1.4 ohms rather that the 2.7 ohm which is required . Is there something that can make these go bad ? I have rechecked my wiring and connections and found nothing . Now I need to get another stator , but don't want to have the same thing happen.
Also does anyone have a good stator for sale ?
thanks in advance Kevin...

stator troubles
Flame,
Sorry to here about the stator. Rich(TakeitToTheLimit)had pointed out that the early stators with the square plugs did have problems even out of the box. I suggest getting a later style with the round plug and splicing it to the original wiring or installing all the components with the round plug. I found a stator for you, check you mail.

Kevin,
The plug connector was switched to the round style in 1978. PART#AM54174 is for 70001-80,000 cyclones but should work on yours. You will problably have to remove the old wires from the connector and install the wires of the new stator.
