hey guys
wat are some of the best things to do to a either a 76 liquifire with a kioritz and stock clutch so faster or have more power or a 79 liquifire with the same engine as the 76 but with a powerblock clutch on it go faster? or run to the engines fullest i herd if u made these engines run really high rpms they would rip to do that on the stock clutch i would just need to decrese the weight size? or would it need a stiffer spring to? and on the powerblock id just need to take some of the wieight out of the little weight holders in the clutch itself i also got a set of pipes not sure wat there off of but i fit them onto the 79 and wondering how hard it would be to find the right rpm to make the full power and it to run right or about rejetting with running the pipes?
thanks mark

markz88,
The first generation liquifire was made from model year 1976 to model year 1978. The actual build date was usually in the summer/fall of the previous year.( example: build date 9/75 is a model year 1976) There was no 1979 liquifire, that year was skipped. The engines starting in 1980 liquifire was changed to the Kawasaki series.
Without getting into engine porting mods, there isn't much you can do. one thing would be to install liquidator exhaust pipes or twin pipes by Aein(spelling?) and rejet accordingly. Either of which are hard to find.
I would not change the governed speed of the engine.
If you want a sled that goes faster, buy a newer sled . These old sleds are vintage now and should be respected as such.

Harley is right on as usual another thing to note is fitting twin pipes on without knowing what they came from could be killing the power of your sled. The different section lengths and outside dimensions are designed the change rpm/torque ranges and may have bad effects on the wrong motor.
