I have been working on a 94 A/C ZR 700 to get it to run. Mostly the carbs needed to be cleaned out and put back together, but it still seemed to bog down and somtimes quit but would always start back up, idle for a while and then would go again. I put it in the shed yesterday and looked at the fuel filter today and it needs to be replaced as it has quite a bit of crap in it and also had some water in it. Was wondering if I could add a little heet to the gas tank to try to git ride of the water or is there something that would be better? The guy that owns it said they had drained the tank a couple of times as it had water in it then. Suppose they didn't get it all out. Any help or ideas if possible. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can add some isopropyl alcohol, but make sure to use the high percentage stuff ( 90% if im not mistaken). But I would get a second oppion on it first.

Water in Fuel Tank
Well to make a long story short I drained as much gas out as I could, took a rag and wraped a wire around it and soaked the rest of the gas out of the tank untill it was dry, replaced the filter, took the carb's off and cleaned again, put back on, and some fresh gas in the tank and 2 pulls and it started. Ran it around for a while and NO bog, just had to hang on. There had been still a little water in the tank which made all the difference in the world, if in doubt drain or check the gas for water or crud in the fuel. Hope this helps. mailman
