Just curious to see how many are going to turn up for the Big Sandy Vintage Ride tomorrow. I'll be there on my 1980 Trailfire 340 of Doom. JDDecalguy....Chris Dotzler will probably make an apperance. It's at the Eagle's Point Bar in Mcgregor, MN. The ride is more of a poker run than a ride. I know my Trailfire won't make it more than 10-20 miles. She's really tired. There'll be lots of bombers as well as nice restorations. It's a lot of fun, and there'll probably be 100's of sleds from the old KDK sno-travelers up to new ones like my buddy's 2007 Polaris Dragoon.

I stopped and looked at your sled a few times. I saw you guys at Pier 65 and the Sand Bar. Your Trailfire made my buddy want a Deere. I was riding the silver 1990 Ski Doo Formula MX with the cracked hood, missing snow flap and duct taped windshield. My Trailfire decided to blow a crank seal on the stand right before I loaded it on the trailer. $20 in gas for it, and now I have to find a sled that needs 6 gallons of 50:1 premix. It was by far the best engine burn down I've ever experienced. It was pouring exhaust out the fan shroud, and it backfired out the almost non-existent PTO crank seal. I took a good look at it this moring before work. Dry rot was definatley the culprit. Good thing it didn't happen in the middle of the lake. I was hoping to get my 1984 Sprintfire ready for the ride, but there wasn't enough time. I hope you got to talk to Tasky. He was riding the mint 1984 Liquifire. His buddy was riding the Dator. It was a good ride. My buddy and I BS'ed with the guy who had that early 60's Arctic Cat. I turns out it was a barn fresh sled and get this, it's serial# 1! It was a good day, hopefully more Deere guys turn up next year.

I was there with the 78 Cyclone and the 72 400. That was a heck of a nice Dator and Liquifire. It was a great ride. My 400 ran great but wasn't starting well. I had to pull a plug and shoot some ether in there every time to start it. The Cyclone ran good once I pulled the carb apart in the middle of the lake.

It was cool meeting both you guys(guitardude and bulldog). My wife and I, Tasky, and the rest of the gang made the entire trip without any breakdowns(lucky). I thought the '78 Cross Country was a sweet ride myself. Hope to see you guys again at some future runs. Next time, Jack, tell Tasky you sold your '84 Sprint. lol. Jason
