comet 102c question

Probably a dumb question but are all comet 102c clutches the same or are there different varieties? I would like to get a new clutch or clutch kit for a 76 liquifire and 1979 trailfire, both are 440s!

The 102C used on the KEC /22 engines, cyclone and early liquifire are the same except for the cam weights and main spring. The 102C used on the kawi engines had a different taper offset distance. Which means the clutch was either closer or farther away? from the engine when mounted. They are not interchangeable between the early style and the later style. Both styles of the 102C are still available new and the cam arms and button sliders are still available but you need a special tool to remove the spider to replace the slider buttons.

Also some 102-c had shorter bolts that held the cover plate in place. I know for sure the 80's TF's have the shorter bolts.

The longer bolts are used on the 80 LF probably because of the increased HP.

So with the differnt bolt lengths used I would imagine that the holes in the moveable face are threaded different depths.
