What is the thinking on crank seals on these 30 year old sleds?
I have a 79 exciter 440 has sat in a barn for a number of years with out running.
I got it going and ran it hard in december and now no snow.
Are the crank seals a weak spot should I pull the engine and replace the seals
I have heard that you should replace the crank seals if you plane on ridding the sled much?
What do you think
Thanks Bob

Yamahas are usally good for cranck seals. unless it seems to be sucking alot of air and only gevs really high cranck seals are good. you shouldnt have to worrie bout those things when driving yamahas!
