Does anyone know if I should leave the treated gas in my steel tank or should I drain it completely to prevent rust.

Steel Gas tank storage??
Are you talking for the summer or long term? If you mean long term I would drain it, even treated fuel will rust the tank in time.

Steel Gas tank storage??
Agreed, I leave stabilized fuel in the tank for the summer, but empty them if it is going to be longer then that.

Steel Gas tank storage??
It would be for the summer only (plan on running it next winter). I may be working on it during the summer also.
What about the walbro carb diaphrams?? Just run the engine untill it dies or take off the carb & drain gas????
Thanks
Joe

I think if you are able to start it and run it a lil once a month or so thats the best for the walbro although I have no scientific evidence I tend to beleive sitting dry for long periods is a bad thing for any make of diaphram carb. The diaphram will tend to rest in a streched position and if it dryd out too much it will become brittle and crack or tear just enough to not work right. I usally leave gas as lil as possible in my old deeres and run them a few times in the off season. I actually ran my 300 and x4 this winter on the same gas from 2 seasons ago. I dont recomend letting the gas sit that long but with last winters poor riding they didnt get used at all and I figured Id give them a shot this season with the old gas I actually forgot how old it was until I thought about it.

I start the engine, then while idling pull the fuel line off the tank fitting to run the carb dry. I then pump the tank out.
