How much internal clearance between the aluminum pivot shafts and the swing arm tubes is acceptable.

Harley, if you use steel shafts you could get by with less clearance & add a grease zerk or 2 to the swing arm, I'm not so fond of alum shafts, to me that seem to stick easier than steel when they get dry & oxidizes. I feel there isn't enough weight savings too use them rather than steel for strength.

Kenny, suprisingly I was able to remove all the aluminum shafts without any difficulty. I have to replace 1 that is badly worn(front swing arm). I noticed there is about 1/32 or less clearance in both swing arms.

To tell you the truth, I kave placed the X8 on the back-burner for now. I am concentrating on the 78 cyclone.
