Last time I had the Polaris out I noticed the grips were not getting warm/hot. This was the first time I really was able to test them out. They warmed up a little but not much.
I rode my unlcles Polaris in the past and remember his grips got pretty hot and I acutally had to turn them off.
Do the heating elements wear out after time? This sled is a 95 so its more than 10yrs old. The thumb warmer did not work either.
Is there anything I could check first before replacing? Also what heated grips would you guys recommend I should try. Go with the Hot Grips or stay with the Polaris brand?
Thanks,
Eric

Eric do they heat up in both the high and low positions or only in the high?

If I remember correctly the only way to get a little heat out of them was to turn them on high. Even then I could barley tell they were on.
I dont think I ever felt any heat coming from the throttle lever.

They still work fine on my '95 - the high setting is too hot for me, even through gloves. I'd look for a loose wire, poor ground, or maybe bad switch.

Matt probably has the answer.
Bad ground.
That would explain low heat on high and no heat on low.

Alright. Thanks for the help! I will check out the wiring.
Hopefully I can figure this out before next winter...
