I picked up another Hurricane on the weekend for parts. I got it home and started to tear it down. It is in pretty good shape and I thought I might try to save it. I knew the motor was seized so I took a closer look and found that a mousse had been using the motor as a toilet. The motor runs a dual walbro carb setup, the throttles are free but the chokes are stuck. Now for the big problem, what are my chances of unsticking a motor that a mouse has pissed and **** in? This sled has a very unique rear suspension and i would like to save it, I hope to be able to post some pics later.

I would use PB blaster in the cylinders every day for a week or so and it should brake free without to much trouble. Then pull the jugs to see the damage. Might only need a hone job and some rings.

i got a motorcycle that ran then my grandpa died, sat for 20 years, went to it this year and it was stuck, used penetrating oil, got this unstuck and i got this thing to run
Many new and used parts available, I ship anywhere. Thanks everyone.

I've been told diesel fuel works to. Any thoughts? Would I have to then drain the crank or how would this work? I have never had to deal with a stuck motor before I just swapped them out, but merc motors are few and far between.

What about PB blaster and rapping it with a hammer or taking a drill to the flywheel and alternating forward and reverse to get it un stuck. Make sure you remove as much as possible though. BOB

This will sound extremely odd, it did when I first heard it. I have been told by guys who restore old tractors and trucks that to free a stuck motor(that has rusted) you need to put it in water for 24-48 hours. I had one guy tell me he chains them to his bucket and throws them into his dugout for a few days. I guess the logic is that it reactivates the rusting process and frees the motor. I have yet to try this as it sounds like a step in the wrong direction, but these guys swear by it.

My uncle did something similar with an old steel wheeled Minneapolis tractor, but he hooked a battery charger to it also. I believe that the positive was hooked to motor and the negative was attached to a pieces of stainless steel clipped to the side of the tank.

Brake fluid works good as a rust buster, Right now I've got a KEC340/22 with brake fluid soaking on top of the last piston that is stuck in the cyl.
