74 X8 electrical

Post by JDXsand00s »

I was working for 4 hours yesterday trying to get the lights on my X8 to work, but was unsuccessful with the wiring there. However, i could get the tach to work when the light switch was off, it is the 5 post switch. Also, the dash and tail lights worked when the dimmer switch was plugged into the tachs connector instead and the 3 post coupler of the light switch was unplugged. I had no idea how to get it to work right so i stripped the wiring off of my 73 500 and now the lights and tach work great, and that only took 5 minutes to do. Any ideas on the old wiring? I always have the option of looking at my X6 but that isn't with me and Christmas break time is ending quick so i don't have any time. Thanks.
