Bad gas?

Post by WatertownBob »

I parked the sled with 1/4 tank of gas and half or more of a bottle of seafoam last spring.

This winter I rode it once and starts good one or two pulls. Runs good upto about 5000 RPM. Will not go past this RPM wall. Did not top off the tank with fresh gas yet

How long can you store gas before there is problem with engine runnability?

One guy at work said the change the plugs. Any thoughts

Drained old gas filled with fresh. Rode it to work todaay. Still not wanting to go past 5000 RPM

I will put new plugs in later today.

any thoughts

I changed the two internial coils last year. Does the external coil ever make it run this way..

I don't think the carb is dirty With all the sea faom that was in the system over the summer

Gas can begin to break down and lose its octane rating in as soon as three weeks after purchasing. What kind of speeds are you reaching when you get up to 5000 rpms.

30 mabey 40 at best

I can kind of hear it cut in and out

After I reach 5000 it may go upto 5500 but them back down to 5000. I can go WOT but it wont give me more power or RPM

How often should a guy change plugs?
