Mark Fond On Sled

I have a 1981 SPITFIRE sir. # 155107 06/80. Every year I like to take one or two apart each year to clean them up. It is nice to be able to be off for the winter. I removed the engine and muffler and started cleaning up all the old oil from the belly pan. I found a mark on the steering arm that is welded to the cross beam that supports the ski mounts. It looks like a HAT. What does this mean? Does this tell me know welded it? Or put it together? Who was assigned this stamp? Is there stamps put on all late models JOHN DEERE sleds? Can someone help me?
