Fuel Line Sizes

Post by 2liquifires »

Hey guys, I haven't been around since last winter. Anyway I remember seeing a post last year of Liquifire fuel line and oil line sizes and where to order it. I for the life of me cant find the post and was just wondering if anyone had that information handy. I have 2 1980 Liquifires that I need to replace all of the lines on and would like to get the line ordered so I have it when I get the sleds out.

1/4" line for the fuel and oil supply line (from the tank to the pump)

You can order the Tygon brand line from McMaster Carr. (which is probably the best you can buy)

I have also had good luck with the Oregon brand. They sell this at my local Farm and Fleet. This is transparent yellow in color like the Tygon.

I replaced mine last night with tygon. I couldn't slip them on, so what I did was take a liter the the end up and push on with no clamps so once it gets cooled of it will be a tight fit with no need for clamps, unless you wants to use clamps.

I am not sure on the size of the small oil injection line. Maybe 1/8"?? I am sure someone knows for sure. I just brought an old piece into Farm and Fleet and matched it up with some the oregon line they sell.

If you are going to be replacing these lines its almost easier to do it with the engine out. I just got done replacing these lines on a 80's LF. I had to remove the water pump to replace the line that goes to the center crank bearing.

Since Tygon line is transparent you can check to make sure the oil is flowing through the lines. (which is nice)
