Kohler Wiring Diagram

Post by Cabindweller »

I am Helping a friend of mine with his 71 Herters Husky. Im sorry its not a Deere. But it dose have 440 2AX Kohler Motor. The wiring is a mess. I have been looking High and low Both here and on John Deere Manuals. I cant find a Wiring Diagram or Schematic anywhere for the Kohlers. Now I am assuming that Most Kohlers used the same wiring Scheam. Correct me if I am wrong. Here is what we have figured out so far. There are 5 wires coming out of the motor. two Blacks Two yellows and a Redish wire. Both the black wires seam to play a role in grounding the coils to kill the motor. Is each black wire per each coil? One of the yellow wires lights up the test light, has to be the lighting wire. The other yellow wire we have not tested, not sure of its purpose. Then there is the redish wire. There again we are unsure of its purpose. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jerry
