76 cyclone not running

Post by crazzygunner »

I just got done giveing my 76 cyclone a partial restore and rebilt the engine it ran last season.
Yesterday i went to start it all it would do after a little pulling is pop and some times run for two seconds i also had a spark come out of the muffler and it backfired and the pull starter would go in and take your hand with it and lock for a second. The times it did start going even when you gave it throttel it wold die and not start for a litle while. I checked spark it is strong i have 120 pounds of compresion and the plugs are wet my first thought was timing is offwhen i rebuilt it it was all ready marked with a scatch all and so i just lined it up and put it on i think that could be the problem but am looking for advice. I also have new plugs newer lines and filters.

Don't laugh to much nitro, happens to the best of us. Turns out the short wire on my merc goes to the far side :bonk: . Still trying to live that down.
