Walbro Rebuild Help!!!!!!
Walbro Rebuild Help!!!!!!
I am ready to re-assemble the WD-32 for my wife's 400 and she informed me that she threw out the instruction sheet that came with the kit because she did not think I needed it. This is my first crack at a rebuild and would feel much better with it. Does anyone have a link or pics so I only have to do this once? I have been struggling to find anything on line. Hoping to get this done soon so we can be back out on the trail this Saturday! Thanks in advance....Joe

http://www.vintagesnow.com should have what you're looking for. Otherwise the big blue and gray Clymer snowmobile manual has a really good step by step test and assembly guide for the Walbros. You should be able to find it pretty easily at farm supply stores or snowmobile dealers. It's invaluable to have if you work on a lot of different vintage sleds especially if it's an obscure brand. They have an engine section with almost every engine made, carbs, suspensions and a whole bunch more. These carbs aren't that bad to rebuild. The best kit to buy is the genuine Walbro kit.

Thank you for the info. Making things easy. How tight should the screw for the metering lever be? I have everything back togehter, just need to know this before I connect the two halves....Joe

Re: Walbro Rebuild Help!!!!!!
Tight. You don't have to get it so tight that the head of the screw strips. It won't pinch the lever pin because the lever pivots on the pin. Make sure to vacuum test the carb by bypassing the fuel bleed off hole and putting your tester on the inlet. It should hold 5 lbs. If it was a Winderosa kit you'll for sure want to make sure it holds vacuum because I've seen a lot of Tillotson and Walbros leak with the Winderosa kits installed.

Jack, thank you for all of the useful info. I got it back together and it was a breeze. Unfortunately, I do not have a pressure tester, so I guess I will find out when I put it on the sled. Will let you know how I make out...Joe
