clutch puller
clutch puller
I need to pull my clutch off the engine in my JDX 6 to replace the seal. I really don't want to buy a puller for a one time use. Is there some where that I can get a picture of one with the measurments of it so I can make one. Or is there another way to get it off the engine. Thanks Ivan

Re: clutch puller
Dont' make your own home-made puller. It could fail causing more problems, trust me. Take the sled to your nearest sled shop and have them remove it.

Re: clutch puller
find a bolt that will thread into the clutch and then tip the sled on it's side and fill with hydraulic fliud..thread the bolt in by hand a bit, then hit it with an impact...either pops off or doesn't...but won't hurt anything vs. making your own puller

Re: clutch puller
Just make sure the bolt you use has Grade 8 rating. Stripped threads are no fun. Teflon tape on the bolt threads will help seal it up better too.
Re: clutch puller
Does anyone know what the thread size is?
Re: clutch puller
The threads on the clutch are 3/4 X 16. I've made my own puller and have had no problems at all.
