All of these models were very similar. All were based on a chassis with a mid-mount, reed valve motor (except JDX4 Special). In 1973, all models had the bogie suspension/rubber track, while in 1974-1975 they used the new slide suspension/full width cleated track. Most of the full width cleated tracks had issues, and were replaced with 2/3 cleated tracks.
Note: CCW and Kioritz are the same engine. CCW (Canadian Curtis Wright) was the company that imported the engines to North America in the earlier years. Starting in ’74-’75 Deere bypassed them and used the manufacturer’s name instead (Kioritz). Kioritz is still in business making engines, and is associated with ECHO.
