Hi Pete. She's supposed to be a go. I'm sure glad we didn't get the plus three temperature they were calling for on Saturday. I'm riding the Liquifire, but my wife was in an accident with her boss last Thursday down at Boissevain. She's a little stiff, so she'll be riding the Indy instead of the Spi...

On old sleds

Hopefully admitting to my mistake here will benefit someone else in the future. I went out to the shop at six o'clock this morning to put a recently aquired used 2/3 cleated track on my '78 Liquifire. I got the track in place, put in the drive shaft and tightened up the three holder bolts on each si...

What's it worth?

Is an early '80s Ltd 440 worth anything? If so, what? It needs a new mirror and a fork seal, but that's it for safety. It's a chain drive. The newer ones were shaft I think. Any ideas on value would be great. Thanks.

Does anyone know what the range of serial numbers was for the factory c/c's? I was also wondering what the difference was from the l/f. Suspension? Heads? Tuned exhaust perhaps?

He also said the tank was under the handle bars. Please note that I am not familiar with the Sno jets, so I'm only going by what he said.

I haven't seen the tank so I have no pictures, but he says it's plastic. He has looked at other Sno Jet tanks and he says they're all different. This one is supposed to be specific to the Sabre, or so he says.

Murphy's Law or is it just me?

Hey Pete, I don't mean to change the subject or anything but, Feb. 23=Minnedosa and it looks like Mar. 1=Rapid City. Also, did you put actual bought wear rods on, or did you make your own? I just use 3/8 rod. I shape it and then stick on some short bolts.

Sabre Jet

Would anyone happen to know where a guy could find a gas tank for a Sno Jet, Sabre jet. A buddy of mine needs one. He says the Sabre Jet tank is different somehow than the other Sno jet tanks. Thanks.

There was a post awhile back that ended with "involves IFS Deeres". I can't find it or remember who posted it, but if I remember correctly, it promised some pictures. Any updates????????

What motor's in this 500?

I now understand the '67 thing, having looked at the ad. In '67 Boatel used Hirth, Kohler or JLO in the Ski-birds, depending on displacement. The biggest was a JLO 372cc.

It should be a CCW/Kioritz 440 (436 cc). '72-'73=KEC440, '74=KEC440/5. I'm not sure what is meant by '67 as Deere was '72-'84. I'm also unsure of the difference between a KEC440 and a KEC440/5 as both are piston port.

Scott, did you get your seat recovered yet? If not, is there enough of the old seat cover left to make a pattern out of? If not, just use some paper or cardboard to make a pattern with. I just redid three of my seats that way. Also, fabricland in Brandon has black vinyl, rated for -40, uv resistant,...

I too had an "Uncle Joe". His name wasn't Joe though. It was Uncle Babe (Wilfred really, but we all called him Babe). He bought a brand new 440 Cyclone in '76 or '77, brought it home in the crate and put it together. He only lived a few miles away, and he used to come over with it and give...
