Re: 1978 Liquifire Wanted
I just happened to jump on here and was thinking about posting my 78 Liquifire 340 for sale. Sled is complete, and have spare top end (cylinder, pistons, head, etc), carbs cleaned, etc, new ignition box, reproduction (new) rear grab bar, and new reproduction SW temperature gauge (correct for 78 and ...

Mine must have a thermostat stuck open or someone removed it altogether. It runs about 130 most of the time.

Re: 30 year old sleds! Aren't they great
I never got to even run my sleds last winter. Only one snowstorm to speak of and not enough to ride on. So they both sat for a full year or more. Now this winter we are already at 17" and more coming tomorrow. Both the 78 Liquifire 340 and the 82 Trailfire 440LX fired right up after priming. Ch...

Re: for "what its worth"....
I look at it like this: This hobby is no different than my fascination for saving old Musclecars from the 60's and 70's. The only change is that the amount of money spent is exponentially higher for the cars than for the sleds!! I paid $450.00 each for 2 (76 and 78) Liquifire 340's. I would like to ...

Re: This link was sent to me check it out. Kind of neat.
To use E85 in any engine, requires rejetting and/or recalibrating the fuel curve (fuel injected systems). E85 requires a larger jet. This is due to the ethanol bringing a small amount of oxygen with it, thus requiring a larger jet to get a sufficient amount of *fuel* through to the engine. If I were...

Yes....good call on the fuel pump. I had a hell of a time just getting to the fuel line clamps on the pump, let alone removing it.

First snow of the season.....
After 10" rain this past week, snow is finally falling in west central Ohio. Maybe a couple of inches by morning. Think I'll go test fire the sleds tonight....just for extra measure!
