Re: Not bad for late March
LFs are such beautiful machines. Looking to replace my Sportfire w/ a LF but am worried the LF is going to burn alot of extra fuel.

Re: Is winter coming to an end?
I was up on the Minnesota North Shore a couple of years ago at the beginning to middle of April & they still had an excellent snow pack. Lots of skiing going on not sure about the snowmobiling but looked like a strong possibility. Be a nice late late season retreat.

Re: 80 + Liquifire Deep Snow Kit
Oh wow what is included in this kit. My Sportie does not deal w/ deep snow well. Gotten stuck many times where a newer Polaris easily treads.

Re: WI pinches DNR
Wisconsin has the most heavy handed rural law enforcement possible & our DNR is well known for their "guilty until proven innocent" jack booted tactics. Living & working in rural areas outside Black River Falls & in Juneau County I never fail to be amazed at how much I have to ...

Re: Super Powered Sportie
According to the book yes. In order to keep both boogies centered between the lugs you have to leave 1 side of the track w/ at least twice the gap from the slide as the other side of the track.JDT wrote:Did you do a proper track tension and alignment procedure?

Re: Super Powered Sportie
1 side of the center boggie wheel shaft was missing its bolt & the wheel on that side was hanging down. After fixing, the track still doesn't want to center on the rear boggie wheels. Pulls to 1 side. Something bent, maybe?

Re: I need a favour please
His response, Its not the worth the risk. The Pay-pal seller protection plan does not cover any items that are shipped outside the USA and our own United States Postal Service insurance is worthless. I like Canada and Canadians, but I've got to follow the laws of the land on this one. Sorry, I know ...

Re: Jetting & Cold Plugs
No thats not right. The manual calls for N2 or QN2 Champions which cross to NGK BR9s. Be nice to get a spark plug pyrometer or thermometer which ever it is to get the absolute best check. After I went to the smaller 190 jet it felt as though the machine picked up some power so there seemed to be ano...

Re: Jetting & Cold Plugs
Hmmm. I believe I've been running BR9s all along. Have to check. That could be the problem right there.
Well as far as smoothing out the intake that might provide an opportunity for more power. Carefully watching the plug color of course & rejetting would be necessary if it does.
Thank you

Re: Jetting & Cold Plugs
Going to try sanding off sharp edges in the intake track. Start w/ the air box to see what affect that has. Maybe the newer carb has sharper edges than an older 1. Also would like to heat & roll the mouth of the rubber snorkel. My F150 has a rubber "snout" at the beginning of the intak...

Jetting & Cold Plugs
W/o the air box on my jetting seems perfect (cardboard color on the electrodes). Install the airbox & suddenly the deposits go to a charcoal color. I've even gone to the next smaller size main jet (190) & cleaned the metal screen in the airbox but still just get a lighter charcoal color. Nei...
