i heated that spindle till it was cherry red and hit with airimpact and bolt bushing combo shot out across the bench and hit the wall

thanks guys for the help the site is awesome with cool members 8) :usa: i got spindle out of saddle deal, i heated it up a little but i dont think it was hot enough though i hit with a air hammer with flat attachment half the size of the bushing and didnt budge the air hammer was pounding it out of ...

i got spindles off tonight like 427cobra said and im not even going try to take other bolt out of other side for now, im going to sandblast all of it then repaint, repack with grease also hard part is going to get bolt out like tmartin said i think heat will be my best friend and i do also like the ...

ski bolts are rusted wont come out!
anyone else have problem getting off the ski bolt at top where the whole saddle and ski comes off sled? i hit the one with a impact and thought it was coming out and it snapped the head off bolt, so i tried heating it up and pounding it out both ways nothing..the other side acts like it isnt moving ...

you might want to lube up cables and or pull cap off of carb inspect the valve spring and needle and cable,i had one of those cables come off the valve and got caught up in the spring and wasnt getting returned back down to the idle screw....nitromag57

81 lf clutch bushings?
can you still get thoses white bushings for the 81 lf primary cluthes? i took mine off to service it and they wobble like crazy,the bottom is better than the top one, top one is shot! thanks mike

sorry guys never mind i have engine out right now and all i did was felt the lower hose coming out of heat exchanger where bracket is, and sure enough a rub mark half way through hose so ill have to track this hose down and replace it...thanks

found them sob's they were out in back of warehouse on bench. i forgot when i took some stuff off here @ work when the bosses were here so had to take it out back to get apart...........

i used copper spray for head gaskets i sand blasted the inside top of the heads so they were real clean, i then sprayed the gaskets 4 times to get them real tacky and thick with the copper and torque with good torque wrench...

heres what i found out i went to vintagesnow and on the parts manual for 81 lf it shows on page 38. 2 shims behind the case bearing, i never seen one when i took it apart then when like i say i got back from shop it had one taped on the gear, when we filled case with 1.40 oz of 10-40 w oil then drop...
