I too just got an 80 LF and had very similar issues. When my sled was cold (just started) it worked fine but once it was warmed up it acted similar. One other thing I may have not mentioned. When the sled is flooded, if I disconnect the pulse line and the sled will start and run fine for a short time then rev up and die out. I just bought that kit and the metering lever came out of proper calibration. The tip of the needle valve had an abnormality and there wasn't a seat in the kit. SHOULD the pulse line push and pull? It runs for a little bit then floods out. If I pull off the pulse line from the carb it will start in 5-10 pulls and run for awhile then rev up and die. I got it started for a bit, then could keep it running for awhile using the primer I installed.

I just checked and the lights do NOT work now. (They worked before the mechanic replaced the internal coils). What will he need to redo?
Also, is there a way to prevent exhaust from seeping out between the exhaust manifold and the muffler connection?

I understood that the CDI either works or it doesn't. I finally took the sled to a local guy who works on these. He thought 95% that it was the stator. (A problem if it works when they are cold and begin to bog when they get warm) It is too easy to start plugging in parts without a clear diagnosis.....
