Re: 78' Liquifire with broken speedo drive pin

Thanks for all the replies and help guys. My 16 year old is learning to work on the Deere, so he and I torn into it and pulled the culprit out. Once we took about everything but the rear tail light off , it was a piece of cake. Well .. we didn't go that far, but it's a pain to get to two of...

Re: 78' Liquifire with broken speedo drive pin

I'm taking Wednesday off from work so I can tear up my hands some more on this. I don't have a finger or thumb that's not scraped up or bleeding now. And with all my heart meds, I bleed like a stuck pig. But in all honesty, I'd rather be working on a "hands on " project than sittting behin...

What is the cost on this should a person want a set? And do you have both 440 and 340 for the hood ?
I have a 340 and a 440 I'd like to freshen up at a later date..

Re: Wanted: Fire series backrest & brackets

Mitch, I have used a 400/500 backrest on my 78' Liquifire sled with little if any mod's. It's been years and the one I have is well used , so some bending might have occured prior to me fitting to my "fire". So I would guess it should work on about anything Deere.. But I' m expert by any m...

Re: 78' Liquifire with broken speedo drive pin

Either way, won't I be forced to pull the drive shaft out of the sled ??? Thus resulting in the much hated disassembly and subsequent reassembly of all the things I just finished refurbishing and puting back in ( rear suspension & track ). I can feel it in there with that stiff wire I used to fi...

78' Liquifire with broken speedo drive pin

I dealt with this problem 10 years ago on my other Liquifire and I had to buy a used drive shaft :bonk: Maybe this time I'm older ( yes ) and wiser... Anyway, I spent a few hours yesterday getting the 440 and the 340 ready for the boys for Winter. I installed the NOS speedo I picked up fro...

Re: Parts for Sale from 78 Cyclone and 78 LF 440

How's the rear suspenion on the Liquifire?? Frozen up, cracked, or bent.. I already have a pile of those :bonk: Don't know if I'd be interested in the whole thing IF it's good due to shipping costs. But IF you are willing to part it out AND it's good... PLEASE let me know. Also always looking for a ...

Good luck with your new project. I am refurbishing the same model sled and maybe I'll bring it out the next time. One suggestion is to change out the rear aluminum pivot shafts to steel ones.
Pat

I second that sugestion!!! Also drill and add grease zerks to the shaft tubes.
