Just a note to my previous post... One of the holes already had a helicoil in it which had let go, so I pretty much had no choice but to drill bigger.

I also have a couple of '79 Spitfires, and on one of them I had to replace the 2 front studs which had pulled out of the pot. I drilled the holes out one size bigger on the pot and the head to 7/16 and used bolts that size with the head cut off to make the studs. Tapped the hole with correct threads...

I have a couple of 79 Spitfires, and one of them needs new sliders. Haven't had them long, never done them before. There are tabs in back that keep the sliders from sliding back while driving - how do I get the sliders past these tabs? I hope I don't have to remove complete suspension. If I do, is t...
