I have a couple of 79 Spitfires, and one of them needs new sliders. Haven't had them long, never done them before. There are tabs in back that keep the sliders from sliding back while driving - how do I get the sliders past these tabs? I hope I don't have to remove complete suspension. If I do, is that a difficult thing to do?

It is a good idea to remove the suspension and check it over very closely. A 30 year old machine can have damage and wear in addition to the slides. Check for cracks in the arms, bad bearings, stuck shafts and worn out shock, broken bushings, ect. It is not difficult to removed.
