Thanks, that was the conclusion that I was coming to as well. I don't think I will have time to go and get it, but hopefully it goes to someone that wants to restore it, and look after it. If it is a Canadian Special it is probably quite rare.

The jdparts.com website lists the part # as M63270, you could check with your local John Deere dealer to see if they still make it or if it is the same color. This is an updated part #, but it doesn't mean that they have the parts.

As far as I know the '84's started at 285001, my liquifire starts with a 285 and according to the parts book there is a break there on certain parts (decals etc.).

I went onto the jdparts.com website and found the part # for the hood on the canadian special was the same as a sportfire. It also shows some other parts listed as "340 special canada". Just thought I would add that after reading an old post about the sled.

Well, 2 months after I bought it I thought I should show some pics of my liquifre. There is a bit of work to be done to it, the TR800 clutch is ready to crap out any day now, there are a few scratches in the hood and after the excitement of finding an '84 liquifire and then buying it I noticed that ...

Just wondering if anybody has a Canadian Special Trailfire or has pictures of one, was reading about it in the models forum and thought it sounded interesting.
