Re: Snowmobiles on Display at John Deere HQ, 1975
If that pic wasn't taken 4 years before I was born, I would swear that was me and my dad sitting on the sled in the back... He worked for John Deere back then and I LOVED wandering around that building...

Re: Found My Bean Bags
Pulled apart a dirtbike or two that looked like that- one the mice had stuffed it FULL from airbox to tail pipe (carb, cylinder, etc, included) with seeds and bits. Took some doing but its still running today. The other had a torn air filter boot and was ridden through a wheat field- filled the engi...

Re: What can we do about tracks?
My Dad sorta works for camoplast.... Been pestering him for years to see if he could get me a couple of custom tracks made. Its a pretty involved process though, and VERY spendy. They'd have to be selling thousands of them to even make money. I dont think its cost effective to repro a few tracks, un...

Re: They just looked so forlorn sitting there...
Few other pics for ya. Last run, slowed down so I'd land about where I wanted to park the sled 'till the snow flies. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c187/turnymom/dugs%20junk/IMG_9856.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c187/turnymom/dugs%20junk/IMG_9857.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c18...

Re: What the heck is this?
Near as I can tell, they are identical except for the hoods- the holes are different spots and they are shaped just a little different. Everything else looks very similar. Think its going to end up black and silver with some John Deere stickers on it...

Its for a '67 Yamaha YL2. This is my second attempt, the first turned out okay but didnt have the characte...

Kioritz 440 "blueprints" for tuned twin pipes?
Anybody know the port timing and duration for the Kioritz 440 Liquifires? Building a tuned pipe for one of my bikes and its turning out pretty nice. Thinking I might like to do the same for my liquifire. Specifically, I need: (in degrees) exhaust open period main transfer open period secondary trans...

Any interest in custom Lexan Hoods?
Just curious... Talked to a local shop about doing some vacuum formed lexan hoods. If I built the mold out of one of my existing hoods, it sounds like I could have him pull the hoods for about 3 to $400 depending on the thickness of the plastic. It gets slightly cheaper the more you do at a time. So...
