1980 JD Liquifire 440
2850 km. Machine is complete and in good shape with ownership. It hasn't run in over 5 years. I originally purchased it as a restoration project but I just don't have the time to work on it. There is a box of NOS and some used parts to go along with it that I accumulated for the project, new skis, r...

Re: Track rubbing on suspension - 80 Liquifire
Thanks again for the input. Is there anyway to find out or does anyone have the measurements for the different bars/shafts that are on the rear suspension of the 80 Liquifire? If I cant find originals I could probably have them made up. Same with the rear shock, a matching replacement for the origin...

Re: Track rubbing on suspension - 80 Liquifire
Thanks for all the info guys. I would assume that the shock is a replcement as the lower bushing has been cut on either side to fit in the tabs on the shaft. Also that slim bar must of been mounted in the holes forward of where it is now but came loose as the mounting holes in the rail are ovaled ou...

Re: Track rubbing on suspension - 80 Liquifire
It appears that the previous owner may have changed the shock and that cross shaft, looks like a "Farm Fix" I would say.
I assume I will have to pound out the bushing and find the appropriate slim bar for it or have one made. Will that lower the rear arm enough to miss the track?

Track rubbing on suspension - 80 Liquifire
Hey Guys, I have a 1980 Liquifire that I have been playing with and trying to clean up and get on the snow. I had the rear skid out to replaced the drive shaft bearings as they were done. I broke down the rear suspension, cleaned it up, threw a coat of paint on it, reassembled it and put new slidder...

Re: JD Leaf springs
Thanks, I hope to find a set.
We only have about 6inches right now, its been mild although the temps are dropping it was -18C this morning so the truck said on the way to work. We need the low temps to get the lakes to freeze so we can start doing some good riding.

WTB - Ski Leaf Springs for 1980 Liquifire
Looking for a set of new(if possible) or good used ski leaf springs for my 1980 Liquifire.
I would also be interested in a good/straight set of ski assemblies, skis/leafs/rubbers, if available.
Thanks

JD Leaf springs
Hey Guys, I am new to John Deere Sleds and just picked up a 1980 Liquifire to play with and eventually the plan is to do a full restoration on it. I have managed to find most of the parts that I need to get it back running but having trouble finding leaf springs for it. The previous owner had the ma...
