Are the 1978 hoods all fiberglass and not SMC? Maybe since Deere knew this was a one year only sled it was easier and cheaper to make them in fiberglass than SMC. Seems funny they would go back to the old technology and not make them from SMC. Still doesn't explain the green underneath.

The serial number is J44LG 082358 M most of my 1st gen liquifires have a SMC hood not fibreglass.This one appears to be fibreglass.Something else I noticed is they seem to be paint not gel coat or they have a very very thin gelcoat,

Just picked up a 1978 Liquifire.The black paint is wearing off the hood and is showing green under it.I thought the 1978 LF was the only deere sled to use the hood with the single vent on the right so why the green underneath.The vent is proper and not added after.Did deere paint some replacement ho...
