Bendix Carb Float Spring

Took the carb apart on my JDX special to clean it and cant figure out how the float spring goes back in.I have a service book but it doesnt show a clear picture.The short bent piece on the spring goes on the float,how is the the long arm on the spring positioned?This spring keeps the float from bouncing in rough conditions so I should make sure it goes back in right?
