Thanks, I probably would've taken it off and then realized it wouldn't fit. I guess I'll have to go through the points and condensor first.

Now I know where the saying "A snowmobile is like a woman, work on them all week for a 5 minute ride" came from................................

You said in the original post that you rebuilt the engine. Did you replace the crankshaft seals? Ran good for an hour than went down hill. Sounds like it leaned out on the #2 side. Yep, replaced all seals and gaskets. I thought it might be the PTO end seal also so I sprayed starting fluid behind th...

It sounds like you are having the same problems I had with my 72 400.  I would recommend the following: 1. Replace the points with original CCW points (find them on ebay or someplace) I really think the aftermarket points are not up to par. 2. Replace the condensers (aftermarket seem to be ok). 3. ...

I think I'm having the same issue as flacker36 & Danzig had... -Rebuilt engine -cleaned carb (Bendix) -rebuilt fuel pump -ran awesome for an hour or so after adjusting low and high speed jets -both plugs (NGK BR9ES) were light brown during adjustment period -ran again later in the day and notice...

I removed the shaft and added a rubber washer between the carb housing and end of the shaft. This took up any slack in the system and hopefully helped seal the air leak. I will run it this weekend and post the results.

Thanks everyone

Theres always been people posting about no kits avail for the bendix. T avoid the hassle of the mik swap why dont you just run a walbro from a similar deere that way you can use the choke and throttle cables from any 00 x sled as well as the intake tube if you like. Is this an x4 or x4 special I th...

As a last resort I was thinking on putting a Mukuni slide on, anyone ever done this? If so, what size carb should I use, main jet size, pilot jet size and needle jet should be used?

Okay, I just fininshed installing a fresh rebuilt motor, cleaned the carb and my brother and I painfully installed the rear suspension. I set the high and low needle jets to the correct spec (1 1/4 - 1 1/2 turn out from fully closed) and took it for a spin. When I stopped the first time the motor id...

'74 JDX4 suspension installation

I finished rebuilding the motor on this thing 2 weeks ago, today I assembled it to the chassis and got it running. Then next step is to put the rear suspension back in the sled but I'm having issues lining up the holes to the side of the tunnel. Not only that but the die cast parts that hold the spr...

KEC 340/5 PTO crank seal

Winderosa calls out a 1333 for both sides but this doesn't work, too small of an ID. I purchased the complete gasket kit and it came w/ two of these. It states a 1302 but it's thinner. I will have to measure it tomorrow and if it's within 2mm I'll take your word and installl it.

Thanks
