KEC 340/5 PTO crank seal

Post by jd ike »

I had my local dealer order one, but it was narrower than the stock seal. Would it be alright to use?

Shy away from NOS or new old stock seals because they are "old". Can be dried out.
Use fresh (newer) seals.

Seals come in serveal thicknesses for the same id/od.
If it called for a 10mm thick seal and you have an 8mm it will work.

Winderosa calls out a 1333 for both sides but this doesn't work, too small of an ID. I purchased the complete gasket kit and it came w/ two of these. It states a 1302 but it's thinner. I will have to measure it tomorrow and if it's within 2mm I'll take your word and installl it.

Thanks
