Clutch weights/arms/cams?
I'M BACK more excited then ever. I have done some digging into some other mid range / top speed issues. Something that I forgot about was the fact the when I first bought this Cyclone the primary was pooched. I bought another 102C from a used part dealer. At the time I did not know the 102C came wit...

Re: Primary/Secondary Clutch Spacing and New Belt?
As far as belts go, I bought a Dayco HP3012 seems it fit better, no drag and it sits higher in the secondary.

Re: Primary/Secondary Clutch Spacing and New Belt?
When i adjusted my engine on the plate I removed the plate mounting hardware, dropped the bolts out of the front end. Put a short piece of 2x4 on end between plate and frame (under manifold). Now motor bolts can be loosened easily. I loosened bolts, moved motor, dropped motor back down, temp install...

Re: Primary/Secondary Clutch Spacing and New Belt?
After adjusting my cluthes to proper spacing and installing my Carlise 1078 (4615/32), I started the sled. I found that when on the stand and running there is some drag on the belt causing the track to rotate slightly. I went online and the Dayco HP3012 is slightly longer @ 46.688x1.25, going to buy...

Re: Primary/Secondary Clutch Spacing and New Belt?
Thanks to all that responded. The measurement between clutch inner sheeves was a great idea, assuming you are 11.47" c/c then that measurement between clutches will be much easier to gage. BTW my mounting plate has elongated holes.

Primary/Secondary Clutch Spacing and New Belt?
My question is about the spacing between the two clutches. I understand there is a clutch tool for this, but I can imagine finding one of those would be like finding a NOS Indak kill switch. So really I should be able to measure from the secondary back to primary with relative accuracy if I knew the...

WANTED Kill Switch for 78 Cyclone
I am looking for an Indak kill swtich for my 78 Cyclone. It does not need to be perfect it just needs to work (latch). I vintage snocross race this sled and although when pressed it will kill the motor, it will not latch, therefore it will not pass the tech inspection.
Thanks
PJ
Thanks

Re: 78 Cyclone POOR MID RANGE
OK all very good info, thanks a bunch!!! I found my old air box. the reason I took it off two years ago was that the metal mess was starting to rust and it was getting into the carb, so I replaced that with the foam. Thought was, if it could breathe better it would run better....not so much. I sande...

Re: 78 Cyclone POOR MID RANGE
Thanks for quick response. The plugs look OK, but now that you mention it Champion QN1 plugs are no longer available. I have NGK Iridium plugs BR8EIX in the sled now what is the recommended plug? I will check the jetting tomorrow and post the numbers. When I bought the foam filter (to elminate the a...

78 Cyclone POOR MID RANGE
HI Everyone I'm a returning member to this site. Quick back ground...... I have a 78 Cyclone w/KEC 340 22/B I snocross this sled in a local Vintage series. I am up against primarily 440cc machines because that is the class limit. I do however do very well. The machine is basically stock, I have had ...
