Temperature was good about 150 degrees all day. However if I shut the machine off when warm, I pull and pull and pull the starter, I ...

Re: What is the most powerful sled john deer came out with
I appreciate all the input you have been giving me. Crank seals maybe when it gets warm? The 440 engines did they have reed valves? I'm going on a big ride soon in northern Alberta I will let you know how it ran. I put ifs on my sled to. It was lots of work but seems to work great I will have to get...

Re: What is the most powerful sled john deer came out with
What is the deal with a snow fire? Is it just the bigger brother of the trail fire? I mean liquidfire was a sporty machine. Trail fire the reliable air cooled trail sled. And then there is the snow fire what was its claim to fame?

Re: What is the most powerful sled john deer came out with
Thanks that clears lots up. So with that info you gave me I'm going to say I do not have a cooling issue. So it's got to be a fuel issue. I will put new plugs in and try again. Now if it is fuel where do I start. Do I change the idle setting. Because the machine runs fine threw the rest of the power...

Re: What is the most powerful sled john deer came out with
Hang on I am confused. Thermostats open at 108 degrees. So should the normal operating temp of the engine be around 115 to 120 degrees. Overheat at 150 to 160 degrees.

Re: What is the most powerful sled john deer came out with
Invader heads did raise the compression. Now I am running 92 octane could that be my problem. Rad gets warm and heat exchanger gets warm. I will check my thermostats. Spark plugs were brown. Could it be water pump, how would I check?. Thank you

I have a 440 liquid fire. Wondering what was that the most powerful engine they built? And is there a cooling system upgrade for the 1982 liquidfires.
