1976 Liquifire 340 for sale - Mount Horeb, Wi
Good afternoon. I have my 76 Liquifire up for sale. Currently not running. It needs a new clutch and new cdi box. I recovered the seat and cleaned the carbs. Asking $150. Comes with an extra hood and a lot of other miscellaneous parts. Thanks. http://puu.sh/ajQyX/b18840cac6.jpg http://puu.sh/ajQvo/2...

WTB 76 liquifire 340 clutch
I am in need of a new/used clutch for my 76 liquifire 340. Can someone point me in a direction of a quality used clutch or a new one that won't break my wallet.

bog at 4k
Ok so my brother in law has a 76 liquifire 340 just like mine. His starts and idles great. But once it his 4000 on the tach it bogs until you let off the gas. If you really feather the gas and keep it below half throttle it seems to catch and take off past 4k. Does this sound like a high speed stato...

Re: No spark....
Ok......so I figured it out. After a very lengthy discussion with Harley last night we decided somewhere I did not have a ground hooked up or a ground that was broken. Sure enough, after a look at my ground at the "engine coupler" I determined that hey maybe that should be hooked up to som...

Re: No spark....
Thanks Todd I will double check this tomorrow.
Would disconnecting the plug from the back of the ignition switch break my connection to ground?

Re: No spark....
Well I am at a loss. I figured out what was missing. White wire was cut from the ignition switch to the block and from the block to the "engine coupler". Also there was no black wire from the "engine coupler" to the "cdi connector". I put everything back the way it was ...

Re: No spark....
Harley thats next on the list. I have maybe 4 or 5 wires just cut. I have a couple of black wires cut off of the connector going to the stator (I think). I will have to pull up my wiring diagram and start knocking out my connections one by one. I did think about pulling the spark plug wires off the ...

Re: No spark....
Ok...after a carb clean, fuel pump rebuild, tank screen replacement, all fuel line replaced, cdi box remounted. She took off. Ran for a good 10 minutes. Only problem now is I get spark, both with the engine harness connected and disconnected. Now it doesn't shut off unless I shut off the fuel. Just ...

Re: No spark....
Thanks Harley....I should be able to work with that!harleysportster wrote:I don't have a picture but the wire should be around a 14 gauge with eye-lit type terminal. One end mounts under a coil mounting screw. The other end mounts under the CDI mounting bolt.

Re: No spark....
Sounds like you are making progress. If I remember correctly, the CDI ground wire with a crimped on terminal, mounts to the lower bolt. The upper bolt contains the ground wire from the stator and a ground wire from the coils. I don't beleive I have ground wires coming from the stator or the coils c...

Re: No spark....
I unplugged main harness. For whatever reason the cdi box was not attached to the engine. As soon as I touched a mounting bolt to the engine I was able to get spark. I will still ground strap it. After that I will start sorting my hacked up electrics.
