Re: Lesson Learned with composite skis
Matt, no issues here after 45 years of sledding, and 20 motocrossing, heck that 65 years of wrenching. Run what ever works, altho more studs always means more carbide. It's common knowledge not to follow me, it's hazardous to your well being. I got to see my pride and joy upside down las...

Re: Lesson Learned with composite skis
6 inch carbides work nice with 144 studs in the track, 4 inch is plenty for rubber tracks.
Glad you never treed it. Had a couple deaths here, apparently steering related.

Re: It continues......
thx again. My son still has his 78 Cyclone, and I now have my recent barn find 76. Did a 55 mile round trip on my 76 last night. My daughter on her Indy Trail 488 fan, my jet mechanic/kawasaki triple buddy on my xc500 and another friend on his newer sled. I had a great ride. I wore my dads old sledd...

It continues......
wow, in my area the high temperature is staying below freezing for two more weeks. This is incredible. Our snow is perfect. We has a slight thaw, a touch of rain but still have a foot in harvested fields, 3 feet in many places, and mountains of deep snow everywhere else. Its blowing and drifting bad...

Re: ccw/kioritz question
No, there is no tag. It has been removed. Probly a shady deal at one time or another eh. I bought a 69 sno prince from a scrap yard, it was solid/complete, no rust or dents. But it shouldn't have ever had a CCW. Shoulda been a hirth single. That number came off the lower left jug beside clutch. I wa...

ccw/kioritz question
I have a nice running engine I pulled from a Sno-Prince, not a pretty installation.
The engine ID is KEC440E-121.
Is this an engine John Deere used?
Compression is 155 each hole. I'd like to sell it, but don't want false advertise

Re: COMPRESSION ?
the seal will have 3 numbers on it, those are its dimensions. The last number is the width, my Cyclone called for a xx-xx-10. The bearing store never had a 10, or a 9, or an 8 wide. So I bought a 7 and pushed it in the hole and tapped it in (LOTS OF OIL on seal/shaft) Getting the old seal out isn't ...
